Biology PhD Positions for International Students at the International Max Planck Research School, Germany

Scholarship Details:
The International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) for Organismal Biology offers several fully funded PhD positions. The IMPRS is based in southern Germany and is jointly organized by the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology in Seewiesen and Radolfzell and the University of Konstanz. Outstanding students of all nationalities with a deep commitment to basic research in Organismal Biology are invited to apply. All students accepted to the program will be supported by stipends or contracts. The program offers a dedicated teaching program, high quality research experience, and outstanding research facilities in an inspiring research and living environment. The working language is English. Each PhD student receives individual supervision and mentoring and is guided in her/his research work by a PhD advisory committee.

Study Subject(s): Positions are available for research on Computational Approaches to the Experimental Study of Animal Collectives.
Course Level: Positions are open for undertaking PhD research project.

Eligibility Details:
The IMPRS invites applications from all countries
-Applicants must have graduated from a min. 4-year study program with a comprehensive scientific thesis work in Biology or a related field (this might be a Master’s degree or an equivalent degree). It is not necessary to hold the degree at the time of application. However, you must have been awarded your degree prior to the start of the program. The quality of the degrees (i.e. eligibility) will be checked by University of Konstanz on a case-by-case basis.
-Candidates need to be fluent in written and spoken English and – unless native speakers – have to document their proficiency in English (e.g. TOEFL). German is not required, but students from abroad will be offered opportunities to take German courses.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Students from all countries can apply for these PhD positions.

The online application produces your CV; therefore we do not require a separate CV from you. Besides the online application form, they need several documents from you. Documents that are not in English or German need to be translated. You need to upload all the required documents as one single pdf-file. Please give yourself enough time to submit your application and do not wait until the last moment as technical difficulties or other problems might occur.
